The North-Andover based development team Minco Corporation plans to construct multiple buildings on the site, which sits across from North Shore Community College on Carroll Parkway.
Although the new 48,000-square-foot seawall is part of the development, it is not being paid for by Minco, but rather through a state grant obtained by the city.
The seawall construction is being conducted by Charter Engineering — the firm was awarded the bid from the city earlier this month.
Construction of the seawall is expected to be completed in late spring or early summer.
“The public has been looking at this vacant lot of land for 30 years,” said James Cowdell, Economic Development & Industrial Corporation of Lynn executive director. “This is the first step of the $90 million project that we’ll be having a groundbreaking for later this year.” |
